CENTRAL, an automobile parts corporation, contributes to creating a safer and more welcoming community based on their own technology and capability.

The original Central, Silla Iron Foundry, was founded in 1960 in Busan, then Central changed its name to ‘Korea Central Automobile Industry Co., Ltd’. Central, then, was relocated to the current Changwon factory in Changwon Industrial Complex in 1987.

Central has a vision that it will expand its business area by various means of transportation, that it will ensure safety, and that it will contribute to creating a safer society.

To satisfy the vision, Central has constantly carried out various activities including a public safety information campaign and activities to support for the vulnerable. Central and its partner group, ‘Central Coexistence Cooperative Group’ have together participated in voluntary activities for those in need by donating 10 million won each year since 2017. Its employees have also personally participated in fundraising programs that they created themselves. Central carried out a social event to provide the vulnerable with winter supplies in 2017 and 2018, and a briquettes delivery event in 2018 and 2019. Since last year, they have conducted an environmental improvement project in order to create safer streets in the local community.

In addition, since 2017, Central and the Gyeongnam Office of Education have together carried out a campaign to promote a reading culture for local residents. By donating books to the book café of the Gyeongnam Office of Education and local libraries on a regular basis, Central, each month, contributes to the expenses for the ‘Humanity Concert’ hosted by the Gyeongnam Office of Education, targeting local residents.

Furthermore, Central has so far donated approximately 200 million won by participating in such projects like Gyeongnam Mecenat Committee and Art supporting the Matching Fund project, in order for culture and art organizations to consistently succeed and improve in art culture.

Central, by establishing ties with local media, has also conducted a transportation culture campaign to create a safe traffic culture.

Central is now planning to engage in a playground environment remodeling project by working together with several bodies including Gyeongnam Community Chest, Save The Children and KEAB Architecture.

Their very first playground will be built in Changwon this year, and there will be many more to come in the future with funding of 200 million won each year.
