Established in Aachen, Germany… Makes every effort to secure core technology using Europe's best car R&D infrastructure
Central attempts to secure original technologies of car parts by establishing a research center in Germany, a leading country in car technology.
Central had a opening ceremony of Europe Research Center in Aachen, Germany on June 20th (local time). Industrial trend changes rapidly, especially car industry is under severe change. Central has a plan to secure core technology for future style car and also to secure the position of global car part company by establishing a research center in Germany, the home of car industry.
Founded in 1971, Central has grown to be a middle standing company with 11 domestic workplaces and 5 technical research centers and 3 overseas corporations. In particular, Central established a technical research center in Changwon Head Office to develop R&D capacity. Recently, Central opened research centers in Ulsan and Changnyeong and also opened a preceding research center in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do focusing on new technology researches. Europe Research Center is the 5th technical research center of Central and the first overseas research center.
NRW Federal State where Aachen is located has Aachen University of Technology, car research centers and technical centers. Especially, Aachen where Central's Europe Research Center is located is dense with 260 research centers of Aachen University of Technology and famous enterprises that attempt to utilize research results. Thus, this area is known to have Europe's best R&D infrastructure. Central announced that they established a research center here in order to secure core technology of future style car and to make a growth engine by utilizing such infrastructure.
In this opening ceremony were Kang Tae-ryong, chairman of Centeral, Keum Chang-rok, consule general of the Korean Embassy in Germany, Dammermann, deputy ministry of economy of Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW), Schmachtenberg, president of Aachen University of Technology, Waasner, president of NRW economy development corporation and Kim So-yeon, director of Korea representative office.
Chairman Kang Tae-ryong said that "with this Europe Research Center, we will secure the original technology of car part and develop products satisfying customers to lead to commercialization. For this purpose we will cooperate with research centers of Aachen University of Technology and internal research centers and secure excellent personnel of Europe. AS such we will expand R&D investment."
